Lake Nakuru National park, one of Kenya’s most popular safari destinations can easily be visited from Nairobi. The park is famed for the largest gathering of flamingos in the world, especially the pink flamingos that flock to its shores and other wildlife like The Thompson’s and Grant’s Gazelle, the rare long-eared leaf nosed bat, colobus monkey, rock hyrax, white rhinos, leopards, waterbuck, impala among others.
The lake dubbed “the world’s Greatest Bird Spectacle” which lies in the volcano strewn Great Rift Valley depression, has a number of view points from which to view the lake shore and the massing flamingos with their vocal sounds, growling, low grabbling and nasal honking beautifying the air around with a calming effect.
This safari is an extensive tour which focuses on giving you an experience of a lifetime around the spectacular flamingos’ scenery as well as seeking out a variety of wildlife and up to 450 bird species which are bound by the park.
